In 1963 the Women's Division of the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce became the sponsor of the of the Miss Oshkosh Pageant which was previously sponsored by the Oshkosh Junior Chamber of Commerce. Their first pageant was held in 1964 with a $100.00 Scholarship, which was given each year until 1971 when it was raised to $300.00 A few years later runner-ups were slowly added and at the present time Miss Oshkosh and 4 runner-ups are given cash scholarships. Since 1992 all participating contestants receive a cash scholarship.
In 1996 the Women's Division of the Chamber of Commerce withdrew its affiliation from the Chamber of Commerce and became The Women's Division of Oshkosh Area, Inc.
From 1970 to the present 306 young women have received cash scholarships totaling over $155,000.00. In 2008 cash scholarships totaling $10,800.00 are being awarded.
